Bosc de la Marquesa

A unique place that we must protect

Camping Las Palmeras has a privileged location facing the sea, but even more so because it is located right next to the Bosc de la Marquesa. The Bosc goes from Playa Larga to Punta de la Mora. There are about 90 hectares of forest and 30 hectares of protected sea in front of the Bosc. A pure and unique sample of the Mediterranean coast. Its ecosystem is of special scientific interest due to its unique species and the presence of priority habitats. Its characteristic name comes from Caridad Barraquer de Borràs who in the sixties, at the time of greatest urban speculation, rejected its sale, which allowed the natural conservation of the space.

The Bosc de la Marquesa is a protected area and declared Espai Natural Protegit by the Generalitat of Catalonia, it is part of the Natura 2000 Network of the Government of Spain and is also declared as a Site of Community Importance (SCI) by the European Union.

Its climatic conditions, facing the sea and with a Mediterranean climate, have facilitated the development of vegetation composed of 69 species, where white pines, holm oaks, shrubs, climbing grasses, the occasional palmetto, heather, juniper, and sea lilies stand out. …In addition, all types of fauna also live in the forest. Up to 6 species of amphibians, 16 reptiles, 17 mammals and 52 birds have been detected.

In the Bosc you can also visit heritage, such as the ruins of Mas d’en Grimau, dating from the 16th century, Roman archaeological remains and remains of paleontology. Given its high ecological value, in the Bosc it is strictly prohibited to carry out activities such as camping, lighting fires, throwing garbage on the ground, fishing or hunting. In short, any action that harms the environment is not allowed.

The staff are very friendly everywhere you. The sea is lovely and clear and is shallow for a while. The shop has fresh bread and cakes every day, worth getting.

Second visit in consecutive years, a fantastic campsite that we will visit probably every summer now! Great for family’s. The beach is one of the best you will find.

Great campsite friendly helpful reception minutes to the beach facilities excellent will definitely be going again this year.

The location is perfect as its right on a long sandy beach. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to help (they all speak English too!).

Various accommodation options available. Camping, Carvan, Lodges and the Bungalows. Each section has access to the beach. The front row of beach bungalows have a private access to the beach… Staff so friendly and helpfull. All speak good English.

I think Las Palmeras is a very good value for the price option. The beach is unbelievable and services good overall. Walking through the sand at sunset … is very special. I really recommend this resort.

Great spot. Large site but close to the beach and the sea. Good management, clean facilities excellent value.

Clean and beautifully appointed on miles of golden sand. Nice swimming pool. Camped and had a chalet on two separate occasions. The bungalow chalets win for me. I doubt you’ll find better.

This is one of the best campsites I’ve ever stayed in! We stayed in one of the bungalows; it was clean, well equiped and modern. The site has a whole host of facilities; bars, restaurant, tennis courts, swimming pool, wifi, supermarket, bike hire, TV hire and watersports.

An amazing camping site, our 7th visit !!! Wonderful.
